Try Mozy For Remote Backup

Mozy.com recently announced support and for Mac OS X and I decided to give it a try. Simply put - it works. You can have 2Gb of free remote storage space and backup your files with encryption.

You can use my referral link if you decide to give it a try - https://mozy.com/?ref=YN77FD (referral code - YN77FD) . This will give you extra 256Mb of free space and will add free space for me too. Win-Win :) and a very smart move, which we should also consider.

    Hello Andry.

Thanks very much for sharing with us your remote backup solution.

After reading from you i went deeper into online backup solutions comparison.

The only big and good point I found from Mozy over similar services/softwares is its compatibility with Mac OS X.

XDRIVE is free and may be an affordable solution too.

It comes with FREE 5 GB of storage, mobile access and private file sharing, file search and drag-and-drop, Multi-level security and much more. (50 GB for US9.95)

Thank you for sharing DotNet! I like Mozy for the software they provide - it;s easy to use for auto-backup of important things in mac, such as contacts, calendar, mail, etc. I found it really easy to use and not taking much time - that’s the most important thing in my bank. I am sort of a Mac addict and their mac-compatibility had me sold.

    Hey Dotnet,

Just learned it the hard way. But when i tried to upgraded Dolphin 5.5 to 5.6 I lost most of my users to the upgraded so i went back to dolphine 5.5. Having gone through that process i found mysqladmin to be a good tool for backing up your database.

I’m somewhat new to database management but i found mysqladmin to be a good backup utility. i’m not sure if it has the ability to auto backup anything but i did do a few test and it seems to work fine when it comes to basic backup.

Mysqladmin is free and its not an online backup tool. works great on my laptop.
Online backup seems to be an added expense.
