Comments : After a crash on my server (google boots), and very hard to restart ray server (open port, ray sh)
I see that on first config
Ray chat run without server and second say ” server out”
I think its good to have ray chat without video when ray server is crashed .
And second “little prob” with video ray, my firefox or Internet Explorer crashed after using (other user not). perhaps my personnal cam config .

No upgrade pack, sorry. Those are quite a big job to be done, so we don’t do it for pre-release versions. Gotta do a fresh install, sorry. 3.0b and 3.0rc have some significant changes.
Wow! 3.0rc RMS Rocked My Domains??
I installed RMS 3.0rc on a shared server with several domains just under my account. The installation went well. But, when I started run_daemon.sh there was not any message. I used Boonex Red5 Tester to connect to port 1935 successfully.
But, after installation the web server can not display any of my domains any more. I get HTTP 500 error no matter where I go on any domains. I had to kill the Java process initiated by the run_daemon.sh script to restore the web server back to normal.
I am using jre1.6.0_01 under my RMS directory. I will be happy to provide more information. Feels like the Jarva process is blocking http port?!
Someone new to all these community sites. Will try my best to give feedbacks.
I installed RMS 3.0rc and everything went well after installing except , the templates for the ray aren’t automatically being installed only the default template is being installed.

You should consider that Ray Community Widget Suite (whatever version it is) requires at least VPS hosting plan with your hosting company you are using. Shared hosting has limited rights on using memory and launched processes. So, as the result this has caused the problem with your sites and 500 Internal error. To run Ray 3.0rc correctly you will probably upgrade your hosting plan.

Since Ray 3.0rc, as a previous Beta version, comes with a special Dolphin package, the integration of all widgets has been done and tested to the default Dolphin template only. It will be fully integrated in all Dolphin templates with the official release of Ray 3.0

For us who are already running Ray 3.0.b and because a fresh installation of Ray 3.0rc has to be done (funny!), please provide us with a step-by-step software removal guide. How can we remove Ray 3.0.b from our site and our database? Should we just delete the Ray database tables created while installing Ray 3.0 Beta, and then overwrite Ray 3.0.b files with the new Ray 3.0rc files following by a fresh Ray 3.0rc installation? Should we do the same with Ray Media Server (overwrite RMS files and then fresh RMS installations)? Will it not affect our old members’ profiles?

you should have received a letter from org@boonex.com where we asked for access info to your server in order to do the installation, but we never seen a reply. We will resend it now once again and let’s proceed from there. From where I stand all widgets seem to be completely operational, and all problems are mainly caused by improper installation, which we can fix for you.

Just started the Ray install and testing on RHAS 4.0.
It seems to have went smoothly so far.
Will be loadtesting and debugging over the next few days and will post my experiences.
Installed ray3.0rc on a fresh RHAS4.0 setup and everything went well except that i had to upgrade to the latest JRE.
Site tests out correctly with the Boonex Red5 tester site.
one thing i did notice is that when i open chat the no rooms and open video console seem to be invisable.
The tabs are there, just no content.
Anyone else have this issue?

Ahh…makes sense then…I think that making sure that PHP is compiled with XSLT support should definately be included as a tech note in the final release of Ray3.0 install guide.
I use this version with a website who have 300 members, and very very good version (Very PRO) .
Only one problem when i restart my server (boot) , its very hard to restart for me RayServer:

2/ delete tmp

andrey, got everything working now. i have enabled the mp3 player but when i view a member’s profile i get a message from the player saying “wrong login or password”. also with the web recorder, within the admin section when i select ‘admin’ the app loads for a second then i get an error message saying “connection error”. i’ll do some digging around to see what i find but if you have any suggestions plz share your thoughts.

Andrey found another lil bug, a member was able to upload a .bmp file, it was flagged as a new file waiting to be approved but does not display within the browser. i think maybe there needs to be a filetype check upon upload.

Well all i know is my MP3 and WEBRECORDER all uploads do not work except photo but i found a fix on BOONEX forum for PHOTO FIX….i cant seem to find a fix for uploads…i mean i set it also in php.ini and apache to 999mb…but it still dont work ….???

i see you got the video player/recorder working, on my site this doesn’t work, the screen comes up initially then it goes grey and a message appears “connection error”. strange since it initially comes up for a couple seconds.
i was also able to view a different user’s profile and the mp3 player worked, only says ‘playlist is empty’ but at least it works for you. how do you have it configured, maybe we can compare.
will do some more testing on your site technoman, if you leave the test account in place.

i’ve been working the ray server and the performance has been great, i have had up to 20 people in chat simultaneously using both audio and video and its been good. one of the most common feedback i’ve got so far is that it would be great to enlarge the cam window. maybe the ability to undock a single cam and enlarge the window or if not multiple windows.
another comment made by members is that the IM alert should be in the form of a popup and bring to focus in front, instead of a floating windoew that is not seen if the chat window is in front of the parent window.

okay TAMPTU this is whats strange it has been working since victor set up ray for me on my server…now this has been 2 weeks almost and this morning in RAY PANEL for WIGETS it kept saying transferring BOONEX and the transerfering my name of my site with .com ….it kept doing this also i noticed when i went to check mp3 to see if anything was wrong it looked fine on my end but for me it dont work and for my friends it works….go figure….maybe it dont like me….lol !

what happened with me was that i was changing my setting in the mp3 play widget, but it wasnt saving the settings, so i changed the permissions on the config files then it asked to register again. strange
