What a nice game! I have been an internet and script user for many years; i have never seen somewhere where a fresh install must be done whenever a new script (site) version is released no matter whether it is a free, beta or a paid version. To me, Boonex is the only place where such things occur. Wow, congratulations Guyz, keep up the good work! I am doing my best to catch you up in this game but let me confess to you that it’s hard. You can bear with me, I will make it cuz I love this game! 
I salute you for all your efforts to improve your software quality and performance but please, please, please, and read me again, PLEASE, try to make our life a little bit easier when it comes to software or website script upgrade.
I am just trying to recover from a Dolphin V.5.4 to V.5.6 upgrade´s Knockout (KO)… Yeah…a KO… A fresh site and database installation had to be done…it is very sad because it has delayed my business too much. (Time-consuming, customer lost, upgrade hassle etc)
I have just installed Ray 3.0.B and here we go… a fresh Ray install must be done for Ray 3.0 Release Candidate. eh eh eh… nice game yo!
We will soon get punched out again when the final Ray 3.0 will be released. Maybe a fresh Ray installation will be required too. Oh sorry… I’ve forgotten that Dolphin 6 is coming soon; we might be required to welcome it with an honorable and complete fresh Installation too. Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, tradition obliged. Get ready!
Dear Boonex, Hope you won’t get me wrong I am just trying to unit people. “You people from Boonex have to make meaning otherwise…die” (by Andrey Sivtsov - Boonex GD). I am just kidding! 
I will hang up on you because you guyz have gotten very good products and I love them. Yes…I love this game!
Please try to make our life a little bit easier. Save us from doing fresh installations of your software or scripts every time. Help us make meaning otherwise we will die. I am worrying about survivals; they might be shot again with fresh installations.

For us who are already running Ray 3.0.b and because a fresh installation of Ray 3.0rc has to be done (sad!), please provide us with a step-by-step software removal guide. How can we remove Ray 3.0.b from our site and our database? Should we just delete the Ray database tables created while installing Ray 3.0 Beta, and then overwrite Ray 3.0.b files with the new Ray 3.0rc files following by a fresh Ray 3.0rc installation? Should we do the same with Ray Media Server (overwrite RMS files and then fresh RMS installations)? Will it not affect our old members’ profiles?

Ok, I confess, upgrade has always been a problem with BoonEx products. And this is exactly what we are working on now. Starting from Dolphin 6 and Ray 3 upgrade path will be much more smooth and simple. We iwll post detailed upgrade isntructions and scripts. At this stage howerever, it is simply not viable to provide upgrade for pre-release versions. installing beta or rc version to your live site is living on bleeding edge and here’s the payoff. 3.0 to 3.1 will have upgrade pack, but c’mon … not for beta->rc->final.
For removal, I will have info from our techs shortly and will post it here.
Ouch, update, update, just talked to RAy team and they are baking a quick upgrade pack. Well, good news then. It will be available today if things go right.

- Will Dolphin 6 requires a fresh install? When will Do.6 be released? I am kind of slowing down my business speed holding for Do.6 to get released. I would like to do things once. At the present stage I don’t wanna get the risk of start running after members and then get myself down because of a fresh installation (files merge, upgrade hassle etc). I have gotten a bad experience in doing things in that way.
- Would you like to disclose Dolphin 6 features before the release date? While holding on, I am organizing myself. I would like to know how Do.6 will look like in order schedule some mods purchases/orders or set my marketing strategy. This Feature list before the release will probably be valuable for many other BoonEx members too.
- Will Do.6 has a Messenger Contacts Importer (Hotmail, Live, Yahoo, Aol, Gmail (Eng/US), Mail, Lycos, Indiatimes, Rediffmail and Outlook)?
- As I suggested some days ago, will the kiss.php be changed to something else or the red heart icon (image) in Ray chat changed to something more generic?
I have just noticed that the Event’s Page also has a dating name on it (sdating.php). Would you like to change it to something more generic too like event.php or events.php.
sdating.php is appearing on the status and address bar, and in mails send by the system.
We are not running a dating website.

I too have been watching for the features of Dolphin 6. I too have an existing site which is not a dating site but an events site. I’m looking for the ability to put events on the main pages including the main index just like comments, new members, feedback, etc. Any hints of Dolphin 6’s features? I’d convert my site if it has that ability.

Dolphin 6 will first be available as a public beta, so you will be able to play with it and ask for changes. Kiss/sdating issue will be fixed. NO mail importer so far, but on list now. WIll need a fresh install, but will come with DB migration tool. I will put up a detailed features list shortly. In short Dolphin 6 is like Vista vs Win98. It’s a HUGE update.
As for timing. User part needs a day or two, and we’ll need about 5-6 days for admin part then. After that you will see a beta1.
Events at the main page is not a big problem. We will consider this for default setup. You can however do it anytime via a small custom mod.

I have Ray 3b. You folks have been tremendous in assisting us in getting the AV working at loveofsports.com. Its having operational problems after a server reboot. I sent a couple of emails last week with regard my problems. You folks have already been in to the site and server and we were almost there. Plus I’d like to buy Ray3 but if I pay at Boonex I will get 2.3 and I’ve worked very hard to ready this new Dolphin platform for launch.
What do you suggest?

Just want to let everyone know that the RAY 3b apps are working wonderfully. The problems appear to be resolved.
There is however a problem with apache owned files being moved from the /tmp folder to the various ray and media folders. Permissions seem to be correct.
Thoughts anyone? Running Dolhin 5.6.0005 /RAY 3B on Linux
BETA licenses are still not expired. We will keep them active for a few weeks more.
