I would like to add-on to the idea of making it so Artists and Directors get their own Type of Profile. I think the featured profiles should get a special status or icon so that everyone throughout the site knows that the member is a featured member. Like Myspace does to their featured profiles. Also I think moderators and admins should be able to be noticed throughly throughout the website. I would like the idea of having featured, admins, and moderators be able to be distinquished very easily by visiting their profile and other parts of what they contribute to. I’m not exactly sure how to do that just yet but I will think about it and comment this post. But any further ideas on this please comment. Thanks!

How about copying the invite page into the member area. You must be logged in to use this one, and there is a record kept of who has invited how many people, allowing you to reward those people.

- An option making profiles created by users under a certain age should be automatically private and only viewable by accepted friends.
- Also may be a Mass Private Messaging option for admin, rather than sending to users emails, you send a PM to their profile inbox.
- An account perm ban or temporary freezing account, where the user gets a message with the reason and length of the ban. The screen could go dark and a message comes up on their attempt to login. Their profile also becomes unavailable.
I think this is so important.
Edit - I also think you should put in an email and ip filter. You should be able to ban persistent trouble makers from using and signing up to the site.
Some members may hate what I’m about to say, but I think there should be an option to read messages. Which is vital if you are going to keep a safe community.
I perused the Mods for purchase section. Looks like there is a ton of stuff. I am curious as to what people have purchased for mods for their site. I know this is probably more of a forum site question, but i consider the people here on the leading (bleeding) edge of Dolphin and therefore in my opinion probably more discriminating in what they would consider a worthwhile mod.
I looked at the Youtube lite and pro mod. the price was way steep but it looked like it might have a place on my site.
Anyone else?
Last night I posted the URL for my website so that we developer types could have a peek. Sometime soon after someone went into the admin. Like a trusting fool I hadn’t change the password from dolphin to a new one so someone went in and wiped out all my profiles and anything else they could get their hands on (300 profiles!) Its my own fault but I never thought that someone here would be looking to make life harder on us than it already is.

Unfortunately to compound the problem I had the server rebooted because I thought it was hanging in not loading profiles etc. Now RAY is not working. Do I have to do something to get RAY started again after a server reboot. Any assistance that way available?

This might be one of those ideas that a lot of people have no use for. But what if there was the ability to sign up as an artist/musician etc.
Artists then have a special gallery for uploading their art work and musicians have a mini store they can upload their music to and members can buy their songs if they like them. Then the majority of the money goes to the musicians paypal that they have designated and a margin goes to the sites paypal ( a % set by the admin ).
This might step on the toes of the classified section, audio and gallery sections, but it might be a nice addition.
Anyone agree/disagree?

I noticed that when you log into admin in on 6 BETA 5, it says “welcome back, “. When it should say “welcome back, admin”.

Also the text in the Boonex news feed in the admin panel, seems to run across the page sometimes.

i think when i set for standard members he can only use chat 1 time on the day…when he click 2. then comes a site… sorry you can only XX times view this action…please make a premium profile!

In a far next version of Dolphin why not to replace the ex Send a kiss (now Greetings ?) with a list of premade short messages list ? The user just has to select the appropriate short message to send, like the icebreakers of LoveHappens.
- You can view blogs and subscribe to them if you like what they are saying.
- You could also have an RSS feed for a member that can be subscribed to. So you get their latest blogs, image updates etc…
- A notice system. Members can send a message to everybody on their friends list at once.
- Badwords filter. Words are added and bad words are removed from any site content, from blogs to messages.
- Saved searches. Members can save searches they have done so they can redo them at any time.
Also, if I was to create and offer Dolphin templates for free, if they were of good quality, as part of my design studios, would many of you be interested in that?

I know it’s really stupid and trivial, but it might be one of those things that gets people coming back to the site.
A battle module. Basically the same as rate, except 2 images are pulled from the gallery, and you simply click on the one you think should win, and a table is established of leaders.
Yet another silly idea by Lewis but here ya go.
I tried to write a text in the blog section of the current Dolphin 6 demo and then to edit this text.
When editing the text, the changes are here in the editor text area, but nothing change on the blog page…
Something else… I didn’t find any “HTML” button in the tool bar to see the code of the post.
When come that does realease ? Know you pictures already showing ?
i tested the new beta 6.05 and i found something strange
when i try to post a topic in the forum .. it doesn’t open when i click on it .. it doesn’topen the page where i will write my post
i downloaded the script and installed it on my server and it is still don’t want to post a topic or even a reply ????

I know that you still have a lot to do and I’m respectful for that you have done and that you will do.
I was asking you in a previous post to add a “global” email address filter option in Dolphin. A feature to filter email addresses everywhere, profile description field, messages, comments, guest book, etc…
Will that be done in Dolphin 6.0 ? I think that could be very important to keep most of our site users on our chat or messenger…

Time has come and we are now effectively becoming direct competitors with USERPLANE. We avoided that for a while, but Ray 3 in our opinion already has a lot more to offer compared to UP apps and it’s time to step on to new grounds.
So, within 2 weeks we plan to offer:
1. Free Ray Community Widget Suite. Standalone. Ad-based.
Yes, full-featured Ray, with all those a/v features and absolutely free for all. You host it and you control it. All we want is a piece of apps space to show our ads… underneath each widget. Hence, upcoming release of Dolphin 6 will include this version of Ray, and will be the ultimate combo of all ages :). One can remove ads and references to BoonEx for free if he’s a Contributor at Expertzzz, or if he buys a commercial license of Ray Suite.
2. Free Ray Community Widget Suite. BoonEx-hosted. Ad-based.
Yep, you just pick the option and use it. We host it. Install it on shared hosting accounts, use it on any platforms, don’t bother about RMS hosting fees. We’ll pull our ads to cover costs, while you will enjoy widgets in full and without problems whatsoever.
3. Ad-free Ray Community Widget Suite. BoonEx-hosted. Commercial.
We host it, we don’t show ads, but you pay us for the traffic. Easy! For a month or two we’ll run it in free mode to test things first.
4. Ad-free Ray Community Widget Suite. Standalone. Commercial.
This is the current option. You buy widgets, install RMS on your server - stay independent, ad-free, with full control and no monthly payments.
5. Ad-free Ray Community Widget Suite. Standalone. Free for Expertzzz Contributors.
This option is already available. You can use ad-free standalone Ray Suite on one domain if you have a Contributor Star at Expertzzz.com. This is like “renting” Ray. Once you quit - it won’t work. Pretty cheap, considering you can buy a star for $100/annum.
6. Express-install. Copy-paste Ray Chat installation. Free. Ad-based.
Simply copy code and paste it to your site pages and BOOM - your visitors have a chat.
This variety of options should solve problems with those who use shared hosting, can’t install RMS or can’t afford Ray Suite. This also matches Ray with current offers of our now-competitor Userplane, but Ray will offer more widgets, extended functionality and better integration with Dolphin… yeah, and standalone installation options.
Suggestions and comments are most welcome. All 6 options should be running in full mode by the end of August. First 5 should be available in about 2 weeks. So, it’s official, you asked and we heard, Ray is about to become Free! (I can’t believe I just said that)
Within the next 2 weeks we’re going to prepare Ray 3 integration modules for 3rd party community scripts. Please, suggest which module do you want to see Ray3 integrated to. Post brands in comments and vote for comments that already list those in your mind. 10 most wanted will have integration modules in 2 weeks.
