i try the backup function on dolphin and i think there is place for better option…
first you can download a backup… but cant upload it for restoring the database with a previous backup file you save in the past….
and it could be very SAFE to have an option to set auto backup database every hour or day or week etc….
and more, if the webmaster can receive an email with the sql file in attachment it could be very useful for big community with a safe backup outside the server.. so if all the data lost of your hosting server… you still have a copy of the last database in your hotmail account….

You can usually do this with the cron function on your web server. I have one of my databases emailed to me everyday using this method.

I totally agree. We will add restore and scheduled backup functions. Shouldn’t take long.

Well, I’m not a programmer either but I managed to fumble around and finally figure it out. Although, the php script came with a cron.php file that I had to point my cron job to. The trouble is not all web hosts make setting up a cron an easy task. In fact, some are downright medieval.
Although, it is possible to do if you’re not a programmer, it could be a lot easier process. Automation of the process through Shark’s admin panel would be a very handy “parachute” in case of trouble.
