Made a good load of fixes, thanks to your timely reports. Added “My friends” page that shows one’s friends on a separate page - good in case you have many buddies. Created new Section in Admin - Builders. Fixed layouts and styles here and there.
Dolphin 6.0 Roadmap progress bar looks so much better now… and as you see has only one ticket left… but what a ticket!
Ok, most of our time and efforts and coffee and nerve gone for the FIELDS. Oh my! We made a short list of required fields, removed optional ones, re-factored and optimized all fields-related queries. Added cache for all of them. And yeah.. now they should work a lot better. This is huge, really - entire script is now much faster - this is your DB optimization and we now strongly believe that v.6 should be at least 50% FASTER than 5.6. We’ll now have a nap and will optimize them even better, and with your feedback. The goal - BEST performance among competitors.
You will probably be missing some fields, but you can add them manually. And this opens road to better fields-building in general - now we will add fields with all due checks, options and customization options. No more junk.

Incidently I am on 1and1 too, we should compare notes when this is over.
The system will not accept me logging is with Dolphin Dolphin on USER DEMO so Im not sure how this is working as it appears I have access with the other aspects. However, trying to use search on the USER DEMO>FORUM>SEARCH returns: “Access denied. You must have special permissions to access this area or you are not logged in.”
In the Admin Demo I could log in on the online demo which I was not able to do with the USER DEMO

I tested Ray pro on 3 machines
1: Unbuntu running Fire Fox
A: Ray Music and MP3 Great
B: Ray Video Played Fine. Was not able to upload video larger than 3 MB
C: Ray Presence worked perfectly except for Email icon
D: Ray IM worked perfectly as well as audio/video
E: Ray Chat has connection error and can not be used or tested
F: No registration Key for Ray Desktop so it can not be used or tested
G: Ray White Board also giving connection errors and can not be used or tested.
2. Windows XP IE7
Everything worked identical to firefox on Unbuntu just a little slower, Also MP3 was about 5 seconds slower to start.

i totally agree with the first vote, i don’t understand why 150 characters. The option should be custom (deciding how many character OR to don’t include a description when registering)

#1 It can be done via admin panel->profile fields section, change the value of “min length” parameter.

just disable “directory listing” on your server and that could not happen.

@mlshoats : I did generate free keys and they are being accepted but the musicplayer still doesn’t work. I received my free Ray keys a few weeks ago but they are not accepted (wrong key it says when I try them).
So this should be looked after.

Well, I have found on bug and I have a quick comment.
I noticed that when using the calendar, going forward and back through the months; that it skips a month every time. i.e. When on August and you click next it will go to October.
Also, I find the 150 character description requirement to be extremely annoying - especially when you just want to make a profile. Be liberal! Give the users the freedom to write whatever they want!
Other than those two extremely minor things — 6.0rc2 is looking amazing. Keep up the great work guys!

Why is there not an option to select a music file from the music gallery that is already on the server rather than being forced to upload a file for your profile music? It just seams like it would save disk space and give users the chance to easily select/change music that is already on the server for their profile music.
Also, music file uploads should have genre and artist fields (with artist link). This way, people can quickly search the music gallery by desired music type. Few users undestand what a tag means.
Also, what happened to the profile audio (voice recordings) from the previous version of dolphin?

#1 It can be done via admin panel->profile fields section, change the value of “min length” parameter.

Okay in admin, in advanced settings, if you make changes click, save, and not the watermark one, but tried that one too. the changes aren’t saved. It just keeps saying watermark saved.

I’m useless at helping you guys with the real “bugs” anyway because if I came across one I just figure I did something wrong. But I promise to tell everyone what is working for me. However, if by some chance I do report a “bug” like the music wont play on my site…please will a bunch of you tell me that you had the same problem…and that if I turn my speakers on…it should correct the problem?
You have no idea what it is like for me knowing I don’t know squat but thanks loads for so many helpful posts I have been able to garner a least a bit of geekness out of.
