Before even thinking of 6.1 we need to make 6.0 nice and 99.99% bug-free. Sure we hate seeing complains because of bugs and really want to make the Dolphin/Orca/Ray family “scroll like butter”. Ok, let’s try to see this happen in 6.0.0003.
Please report bugs in this post comments. No feature suggestions, please, no open-talk or off-topic discussion. Please, be short and to the point. We have till Monday to summarize the final list here and put it into developers hands from there.
We already have open tickets at DevZone - here, so try to report anything but those already listed.
Once the list is ready - on Monday, we will add all items to DevZone and you’d be able to track how things go.

In the current build, you cannot separate the Join page into separate pages. The Join-page builder is missing from the admin screen,and if I try to assign a profile field to a join page of 2001 or 3001, that field does not show up on the join page at all
As far as they are not passed to Dev yet :
- classifieds don’t work (I can add but they don’t show on the site)
- add feedback doens’t work (I can add and edit/delete but they don’t show on the site)
- events : when I join an event it’s not shown in my account under ‘event tickets’ and I cannot find it under ‘my events’. There’s also no possibility to unsubscribe from an event (important !)
- there’s no option to delete your member account(only suspend it)
- lots of fields in profile composition and search are gone (f.e. length, weight, body type, religion etc.). They should be available again but possible to edit.
- forum in other languages. I changed all buttons to Dutch language but when I go to groups or forum everything goes to English again.
- mass mailer doesn’t work properly. When I select to send mails to f.e. only females it just sends to everyone.
- subscribe to newsletter : it doesn’t show in the database who subscribed. It’s important for managing email addresses.
- I can’t register for video player. The registration code I generate doesn’t work. All the others work fine.
- admin panel : change colour of edited builder items so it’s easier to find back afterwards what has changed
- Date of birth in ‘my profile’ cannot be changed to another date format
- Search option ‘browse profiles’ should be more extented (as it was in former version) with search on different fields (length, body type, wanted relation, etc)
All my other problems are cronjob related (I think) but I hope they will be solved after I transferred my files to hostforweb.

on the join page builder, if you set the tags invisible because you dont want it to show on the join page, it will not allow you to finish the join, until you put tags in. I have not tried it with any of the other “needed” fields, to see if they do the same thing.
When adding an “Event” I receive the errors shown below. I have selected a start time via the calendar for the event. The event writes OK to the database as long as other fields are correct.

I was luckly to get Ad-free Ray Lisences for my contributions in Ray’s development through this. WHen I entered those keys in the Ray Base everthing went fine. But when I logged in as a member and tried using the widgets … it returned in an error saying

Cant switch to HTML edit in the in the Article designer.
When i place my HTML code into the Article, it renders obscure added characters and symbols.
There is no place to click to switch from text edit to HTML edit.

in admin panel when i am trying to set in home builder - rss feed, all the rss cames in my frond page (no matter what is the source in fanny characters.
Also in the articles in the frond page and in the place where is the character limit, the truncation is “not good.
As i was saying in the email i send you, i don’t know if this is a problem of the way tinymce is commiting the data in the dbase, but for Greek chars the commit of them is like this.. σ ο etc. So when the character limit is 200 it cut the “ο” in the middle and i have some funny strings like this…

I think one of the major problems is.. No script to upgrade from 5.6 to 6.0 There are a lot of people needing to upgrade the site even if 6.0 is buggy!
1) max new profile fields displayed are limited (15 i think) all i created, doens’t appear, only a part of it. It would be nice to have no limit
2) creating new profiles fields is a real mess. First it appears that you may create a new category to display on profile, but it never appears. Second, to place your fields where you want them to be displayed is very hard and illogical
3) the way members info (in clear all profile fields) are displayed looks like a draft: it would be nice to have one line on 2 with a different color (that you can chose of course) like we can see on lot of websites to can set the lenght of member’s info higher than it is (cause we can’t put lots of info or it becomes gain a real mess)
4) i put “my mail” “my account” “my profile” on the navbar too… everything is working except “my profile”: i set exactly the block how it should be, but instead of being redirected to the profile page, it changes for no reasons the link by “{profileLink}” (which brings to an error page) whereas it should be redirecting to the path set on the block (and so to the profile)
please make template more better! all of template in ONE folder not in 10 others….orca …all in one TMP folder so we can easy edit! thanks

(is the same problem that we had in orca for the field group -when admin was creating a new group- and you have already fixed it).

In the custom blocks builder the table formatting doesn’t work. You can customise size, colour etc and it will display fine in the builder it’s self. However, as soon as you save the block it’s formatting disapeers.

An other thing i saw, is that everywhere the name of the months are in English (i suppose those comes from the server and not from the months in the language, where i have already translated them).
E.g. fields in index.php in the events area in clubs area, in articles area etc the date comes in English eg 28 September 2007 and not 28 Σεπτεμβρίου as it is correct for Greek language.
Can this been fixed in the patch yet to come?

When I click ‘my mail’ and then ‘write’ to write a message to someone there’s no option to view or search for members’ ID or nickname.
Nowhere on the site I can find an ID number of a member (just his nickname).
Isn’t it possible to mention the ID number of the members in their profile or on the homepage under their picture ?
When I send two letters to same member, only the first one will be sent. The second one seems to be gone … also not appears in the ’sent’ box.
Member also receives only the first one.

Suppose user has forgotten his login. Mail is been sent with ID and password. But login with the new password doesn’t work.

This finding is attributed to AntonLV! One of the best Dolphin Expertzzz that has helped us.
Domain forwarding/masking causing issue: when we forward mask from mydomain.com to http://mydomain.dyndns.org:8888/domain, it causes IE to forward incorrectly (only Internet Explorer has this problem). Two files involved are member.php and inc/header.inc.php.
Hopefully, this has been useful information for BoonEx to figure out a way to work this out for some of us.

Visitors should not be allowed to send greetings. There’s no benefit as you don’t know who has sent you the greeting.
Also, every time a search engine spider scans the page, you get a greeting sent to you. Every time we are spidered, all of our members are sent two greeting messages from visitors. As the site gets spidered more often, the number of emails are increasing.

ALSO HERE IS AN IDEA: YOU SHOULD MAKE THE EVENT PAGE LIKE THIS. USERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO POST EVENTS BY STATES AND COUNTRY SO THAT IF THE SITE BECAUSE NATION WIDE PEOPLE FROM NEWYORK COULD POST A EVENT IN THE NEWYORK EVENTS AND PEOPLE FROM ENGLAND COULD POST IN ENGLAND EVENTS etc. so that when people come to the website and they are from newyork they could click on newyork and if they are from england they could click on england.
ALSO Make dolphin so that the admin could add new pages and create new tabs for them.
You should make it so that we could allow our user to to paste html so that they could change their profile by adding there own layouts and adding videos etc. like how myspace lets them and you should make it o that the members could send event invites like myspace.
when users or guest come to the site they should be able to click events and select the state that they wantand view the events by state or country. and events should go in order from newest to oldest. and whay isnt there a lic for desktop. and the av web cam in the av chat does not show up in the free version or ad free version and the admin should be able to see users passwords.
Dont loose track here: Bugs and errors only.

At present it’s not that hard to add new pages.
1)Make a new folder and name it in Dolphin root.
2)Use a HTML program, create page, customize, etc.
3)Upload HTML into folder
4)Go to Admin for Dolphin
5)Create new navigation item, (add url to your page) into the new navigation item.

There is a problem again with the tags and description for the viewMusic.php (when i upload a music).
When i write those 2 fields in Greek the commit in the database is not in Greek…. (tables RayMp3Files, RayMusicFiles and fields Tabs, Description).
Limiting sharedimages (gallery) doesn’t work - users can upload as much as they want with any membership level including standard.
If there are more than 10 groups in a group cateroy you cant move to page 2 - java function doesnt exists to change pages.
Still waiting on an upgrade package from 5.6 to 6.0, or a way to migrate the .db from 5.6 to 6.0.. I can not lose all my friends by requesting them to re-signup!!

Same for Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian please. Characters like č,ć and ž don’t show up in file uploads, especially in tags.
To everyone having problems with video/music upload: make sure your php.ini has correct settings. Test it with this: make a new file in either notepad or Dreamweaver and copy/paste this line:
Save file as something like phpinfo.php. Upload it to your dolphin folder and run it. You will be able to see your PHP parameters, including max size for file uploads.
If it checks OK for root folder, you may need to copy that php.ini to all your subfolders - I know I had for some reason.
So, make a new file again and copy/paste this line:
COMPLETE!
Save it as something like copyphp.php
Upload it to your dolphin root folder and run it. It will automatically copy your php.ini to all your subfolders.

Having trouble in 6.0002 with music and video uploads. The files SEEM to upload, but at the end they just hang without GIVING any real error of any kind. Just looks like it never finishes. It worked great for me on 6.0001 but now it’s worse than 6.0, which at least gave me an error message.
How do I show code in this blog, anyone know?

Please don’t throw tomatoes at me for asking for more functions when we’re still working on little bugs. It will very nice to have these:

- Blogs with categories
- Music with categories?
- Universal search by keywords (we’ve had to use Google search for this)
- Bridge for Vbulletin / SimpleMachine forums
- Public chat, no login - is it posible?

The included “readme.txt” in “Dolphin-Patch-v.6.0.0002-AdFree.zip” was just missing #4.
Couples Profiles (Split Join) is missing and can not be enabled.
Somewhere along development it got lost in the release version. Can you add the check box in the Admin to enable it.?

Browsing boonex.us with IE7, logged or not the Contact Us form doesn’t work. The Submit button is not highlighted even after having filled in all the fields
When creating/editing profile fields, and field type is set to memo, the ‘memo rows’ and ‘memo columns’ are the wrong way round - so the value for rows affects the column width and vice versa.
By the way, if you need any help with WordPress then I’ve had lots of experience - this is my main blog, and this is another one.

See this is a simple fix, that they have yet to take care of, even on thier own site, after someone has found the bug for them. And has given them the fix!
So do you really think they listen?
It’s doesn’t work in your version either(more than likely).
Go into Dolphin-v6xxxx/contact.php about 12 lines from the bottom you will see “SUBMIT” next to it you will see “disabled=disabled”
insert “enabled” in place of the “disabled”.
This will solve the problem with the “submit” button not working proprely!

Speed dating functionality issue:
Tech environment details: September 28 install of the current release of Dolphin. Hosted at hostforWeb. we’ve tested both browsers Internet Explorer version 7, and the latest release of Firefox. When evaluating the speed dating plug-in we discovered the following details:
Creating an event from admin behaves exactly the same with speed dating events turned on or turned off in event settings.
We created two events, the first with speed dating turned on.
Results: 1. Successfully added participants to the event.
2. No opportunity or form for a participant to indicate a match preference can be found after the event.
3. “Matches” functionality appears in admin for that event seemingly indicating it knows it’s a speed event!
4. Participants of the event can be viewed, whether the setting is on or off for that functionality.
The second event was created with speed dating turned OFF:
Same results as 1-3 above, 4 is the exception. When you click on “view participants” the screen returns “event is unavailable”
Notes: 1. Clicking on view participants for the first event, successfully displays the participants regardless of the setting for displaying them or not.
2. All date and Date/time entries, revert to a non working format if you go into edit an event. i.e. 09/30/07 12:00 PM (correct format) turns into 2007-09-30 12:00:00 (incorrect format) and the save fails due to wrong format.
3. The ticket sale start and end dates do not populate on the live event listing. They are Blank
4. IMPORTANT to reapeat. No “indicate matches” functionality appears for the user after the event.

When I change my site to another language, ‘go to my greetings’ and ‘go to my friends’ doesn’t work anymore.
I also translated the privacy policy but it’s much longer then the English version and takes more then 1 screen. When it’s shown on the site, there’s no scroll down option to see the rest of the text.

- ‘groepen’ (groups) - html link instead of icon
- ‘activiteiten’ (events) - description is underlined as a link, the thumbnail picture doesn’t show and the name of the creator shows as a date

I forgot to add that my system is on a Linux server, with CPanel. And I’ve tried both IE7, and Firefox, on two different computers before confirming any of these problem.
I have Dolphin 6.0002, which was patched from 0001 and .0.
Boonex site is slow (or down) –> admin panel is slow (or down). Please make it independant.
Here is an issue:
When you change a field in the profile fields manager, for example i wanted to change city so it can be searchable, and i come across this pain in the a**e problem.
When i change the search type all the data is removed while making changes. So you have to re-input the exact data that was there in the first place or it causes database issues if you use an incorrect data input.
This should be fixed so that all data stays in the fields, while adjusting other parameters.

OUCH! Please change the default “database pruning” settings. It’s set to delete any profile who has not logged on within 180 days. NO - deletion should be controlled by the Admin. So, please set this as 1800000000 days by default. Take a look at this maintenance email:

The super no-good part is, profiles that have NULL last-log-in values remain intact (those are usually bad profiles), and the other profiles (with legitimate information) have been sent to the shredder.

You can change the setting but the interface still lets them create there own poll.

When you create more than 4 polls, the design view of them is not laid out properly.
The polls start placing themselfs all over the “Polls” page, instead of being neatly placed.
classifieds - as a user id likle to offer rental in other country. but wehn my calssified is activated and approved, there will be the location from the useres country and not like wished in an other country! So the search function will also not work. Cause someone is looking for soemthing in ie Greek, but the member who offers something for greek - his classified is in ie france, from where the user come. So please, do something, that classified get an extra chooseable field for country. this is for me a big bug! when we are doing this international and global, then right

In events admin, when viewing participants, checking individual participants does not activate the “Send Message” button. Only “check all” activates the button. Once the Send Message button is activated it, clicking it results in the following error, “Database query error”, and an e-mail is initiated reporting the error.
I haven’t seen how this worked in previous versions, but it doesn’t seem right that the background color and background picture in customize profile only changes the look of the border outside the left and right edges of the web site. The actual profile area itself remains white.
…I should have added as to the last post. Changing the font color in customize profile has no effect.
Should there be some kind of visible submit button in the shout box? it works if you just press enter but there is no visible button. my apologies if that’s the way it’s supposed to be . I’ve never seen another version of Dolphin.

- After joining an event, I don’t see an option to Unjoin the event if I change my mind.

I don’t if someone have reported it, but I have some faillures to report. I use fresh dolphin install 6.0.0002 ad free with Orca.
In admin you can set up the ages for your members. I want to set it up to 12 -40 y/o. It is only applied to search.php and is shown as 18 - 40 as preset, older than 40 can still be selected. It has not been applied to the join form.
Members below the age of 18 can’t join.
I miss the comments in the join form. Many members need some explanation to the password (max
and what TAGS are.
At search.php searching on country has to be presetted on the home country or on ‘all countries’.
Language files cannot compile.

I hardly agree with you and your comment about the set up of the members age range. I know that it is possible to change that by editing some fields in the database but it will be a real improvment if that could be done from the admin panel.

Several items are missing (right upper column), date is returning in wrong format and in the wrong language, there’s an item ’status inschrijvingen’ ( bold) which is of no use (no link).
In the second right block, under description, it’s impossible to make any (HTML) layout. Looks very messy like this.

I did a fresh install of 6.0002, using IE7
- My biggest Problem is the set of radio buttons. When I inserted a new Question for Members, all members get the first answer as there answer. With this bug the Platform Dolphin is for me unusable an I cannot got live.
- The Profile view for the user is very horrible and cannot change
- Register Email (plan text) will still send without charset and Content-Type.

My Ray Chat and WhiteBoard are not connecting.
Is this a problem with RMS or something else.
Ray chat loads but stalls during connection,
Whiteboard loads then says “CONNECTION ERROR”
I have not tried IM as I have no members to test it.

I’m not 100% if the other 2 corn jobs work. i have no indication weatehr they work or not..

Robin001, I also receive that report. But I also get failure reports from the cronjobs. And safe mode is OFF. I read somewhere that the command line (to point to the PHP interpreter) could differ from one UNIX version to another.
I asked my provider and he’s running cronjobs too and they are working fine. So why don’t my Boonex cronjobs work ?
I think to test it, you should try out the mass mailer. But I’m not sure that the mass mailer is without bugs, so …

Have you checked your php path is correct? Have you checked the destination of the cron, to see if that is correct?

When i setup my cron i use the advanced settings within CPanel, not the standard.
I do not know about my cronjobs but i would sure like to know why my Ray Chat and everything that requires RMS is not working. Also (If RMS is shutting down) why is RMS shutting down? Everything that is connected to RMS does not work any more. How can I market this when half the feature do not work and will not stay working.

As far as I know the path is correct (that’s what my provider tells me). I don’t trust him though … seems he’s a dummy what concerns paths and crons. He told me he passed the info to he people of the server maintainance but that they will probably charge me for finding out what’s wrong ????? As you see I have big questionmarks about that because that means he’s not setting up the server himself.

CLASSIFIED SPECIFIC
Custom Fields need work. They are geared for monetary values. Would be nice to put something els ein there like “Location”, etc. If no “action” is selected a -1 and parentheses are shown. Should not show anything.
When adding/deleting categories and sub-categories in ADMIN there should also be an EDIT feature. One mistake or change and I have to delete the whole thing.
Should be able to RE-ORDER categories and sub-cats at will.

Hi, I’m a new Dolphin user and I just wanted to make myself known. It’s a wonderful product in all its incarnations. I’m here to help the best I can, but I’m new to php programming. I’m still trying to determine what’s an error on my part and what’s a bug in the software. For instance, I’m having several problems with image uploading on some parts of the script. Something about fatal error imageResize in classifieds and moveuploadpicture in trying to upload group pics. I just want to make sure I understand what’s going on before I post any specific details.
