6.1 - Splash Screen Chat/Forums
I’d like to be able to do the following:
1. For Chat/Forums, I’d like to be able to place a splash screen describing the rules for each:
A. How a thread might be locked
B. Acceptable behavior (mutual respect, attack point not each other etc..
C. Spam policies etc..
Admin defined information.
2. At the bottom of the screen, I’d like to require the user to have to select a checkbox that they agree to the terms.
3. User would only have to agree once before gaining access to Chat/Forum

Make Meaning Or Die
Still waiting on a way to upgrade from 5.6 to 6.0 or a way to migrate the database
I hear ya! What does everyone think of this request? It could be used to:
1. Warn about adult material
2. Give you a written document users agreed to to enforce your chat/written policies etc..
I’d like to require the user to have to select a checkbox that they agree to the terms.
Isn’t that already done when your users are joining your site and filling in the join form ???
Hi Michel,
It’s a great point. One thing I’ve noticed in a number of messageboard communities is:
1. Trolling
2. Spamming
3. Personal/Ad-Hominem Attacks
4. Misinformation about locked thread/deleted threads etc…
This option would just be a simple way for us to lay out our given rules for things such as messageboards, chat etc.. It’s becoming quite a popular feature in a number of communities.
Then like say every time they are updated they must accept them again but they are given awareness that it has been updated. But if it is there first time they don’t get that warning. Just so they cannot use the effect that you didn’t tell them it was updated.
@interex
Upgrade pack is in works. Will be available really soon.
@all
Agreed, and will be added to DevZone for 6.1.
It’s a curious thought, but it should only happen once. It is not the responsibility of boonex to police your site.
Pop ups and splash screens have been a visitor killer since the early 90’s.
Here is a couple of suggestions for the date of birth in the profiles.
Can you make the D.O.B so only part of it can be seen, as it is a security risk for everyone to have access to everyones D.O.B
Also can the template be a bit more IE friendly.
One last thing, the Star signs are not aligned properly when viewing in IE, as they overlap other information.
Cheers Andrey or Victor for taking this into consideration.
@UK2007
taken for consideration. thank you.
