Not to add fuel to any fires... But having developed software commercially for 22 years there is such a thing as extensive testing. Even if you wish to plunk out a new version and get feedback, at the very least many of the bugs present should not even exist. I have never seen such poor development practices. And at the expense of a community who is fully supporting you with their dollars, euros, etc.

Likewise, the folks over at expertz needs to put their folks on notice about the "value" of the mods offered. For those of you who develop extensive and invasive mods your price is well earned. For those developing lame, small, otherwise incomplete code changes your price is out of line.

I'm certain my post will inflame a few but having been around the block a few times, fixed code from mod's which could have worked in the first place and fixed Dolphin problems... well lets just say the Boonex team needs to knock it up a notch and start delivering for the community of supporters.

If you edit header.inc.php in line 24

$site['url'] = http://yoursite.com

to instead read the ip address of your site ex: $site['url'] = http://111.111.111.111

Your site will load one hell of a lot faster. I have asked and asked why this is. I have sent Boonex 2 emails about it with no reply. My site takes over 20 seconds to load with no users at all when set up the correct way and I have read about others with the same problem. Change that line and it only takes one second.

I know that throughout the script this line of code is later used to generate absolute links (not relative) to a great many things. Is the enormous load time because of all of these individual dns resolutions? Why does this only affect some people and not others? Is it an issue with server setup? Is it an issue with some of us just having one particularly slow dns in out part of the country?

I am running multiple test setups of Dolpin 6.03 on a brand new completely dedicated server. Server load is not, and could not be an issue. Please, please tell me if you know what could cause this issue.

Blog bug/misconfiguration. In BxDolBlogs at line 1665 (6.0003) line 1649 (6.0002) it is written $sDateTime = date( $sDateFormatPhp, strtotime( $aResSQL['BlogDate'] ) ); resulting this error:
Warning: strtotime() [function.strtotime]: Called with an empty time parameter. in /***/public_html/dolphinFolder/inc/BxdolBlogs .
I replaced 'BlogDate' with 'PostDate' because there was no 'BlogDate' field in my database. I hope i done it well and i did'nt messed up something, in case 'BlogDate' and 'PostDate' are 2 different things.

I see that there is some common errors all over the place. It seems to me that the compatibility of the "mb_" classes from the Dolphin 6 release ae having big problems with UTF-8 and backwards compatibility.
I think we need to consider the angle ere to give people a work around until this is corrected.

What say you Boonex?

Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. in /home/udance2/public_html/member.php on line 157

since this function is no longer supported what can we use in its place
