Here are some points to make Orca a better board system. Hope that other users and testers will post their problems and suggestions. Would be fine if the biggest problems will get solved as soon as possible by BoonEx. I think a the forum (also as a part of groups) is very essential for an successful community and should work well.
- If the admin sets the “forum type” to “private” in the “manage forum” section nobody (enclosed himself) can access to that forum later.
- The “report this post” function is deactivated if I am goint to rate a post. So I cannot report a post if I already rated it.
- If an user reports a post what happens? Haven’t found any function where the admin can “reset” a post after an user reported it. Otherwise it doesn’t make much sense if I cannot see which user has reported a post. So if somebody wants to sabotage my bourd, he clicks through all posts.
- The rating function is funny is funny but it doesn’t work really well. If I am rating a post negative it is hidden for me all the time but not for other users. (the same if I report it) I am not sure if it make sense to hide a post if there is only one negative rating. (at YouTube it has to be much more)
- If there is s short text in a post the user picture (or name) sometimes overlap the next post.

Make Meaning Or Die
It almost seems redundant with the current setup. Imho I would add the group feature to Orca and just have one forum to worry about. Then you can list the group on the main Orca index. Instead of navigating to a link I’d rather just use a check box to include where I want to search such as groups, blogs, forums and such. Does it make any sense what I’m trying to say?
1. Private forum can be used for example for some privileged members. For example members with gold membership can access private forum. But by default nobody can access private forum.
2. It will be fixed in future versions.
3. It you are logged as admin there is “Reported Posts” link which shows reported posts. Admin can delete really “bad” reported posts.
4. If you rate post negatively it will be hidden for you only. To hide post for everyone 1 negative point in not enough. By default if post have at least 4 negative points it will be hidden for all. You can change chis setting in orca/inc/header.inc.php file, the following string:
$gConf[’min_point’] = -4; // min points to hide post automatically
5. It will be fixed in future versions.
