For the last few months, everyone here is busy wid the bugs of Dolphin 6.0.3 So, i decided to do some otherwork. As i have heard from many people, and even i feel the same, the lokks of the latest Dolphin are not good. I had a quick view of the previous Dolphin,i.e. 5.6 , and found that it was much attractive than this one, though it has very less features.
So, now i ‘m writing about some of the differences.

As in dolphin, different sections have been made. for eg. on homepage, there are login,polls,blogs,news…and such are all within a box. Everything was well designed in Dolphin 5.6 Sleek designed tabs and boxes.

Though the Boonex team is busy wid bug fixes, thay should also work to improve the attractivity of Dolphin 6. The previous version was much attractive.
Make Meaning Or Die
I think looks are somewhat unimportant to the script development, as it should be developped in a way that is flexible enough for everybody to give the site their “own” look.
Dolphin 6 is more flexible, and if people don’t like the looks, its not TOO difficult to make the necessary modifications.
But for the script being the basic “platform” for everybody’s community site… the look/design should be very simple, plain, and clean. It’s a lot easier to build upon that, than it is to deal with something overly designed. And I’d hate for everybody to have sitesa that look the same.
Boxes, tabs, headings and menus are all rather easily customized. If you likem the shinier or corners rounded, or whatever… you have the power to do that for your site.
Just use (or learn) a little CSS, and it’s fine.
It sounds more like a customization request. I believe there are other templates available to change the default look. It does all depend on how you want to look at it, seeing that it’s free software. Do you want something that’s functional and easy to expand upon, or something non-functional that’s pretty? You see the “pretty” part is subjective and all relative to an individual. Dolphin seems to be a pretty solid script, now if they go and try to doll it all up, well you get the picture.
For instance, I’ve never seen 5.6 until you showed me, and I think the new one looks better. I will admit that it could use just a wee bit of tweaking in the aesthetics department.LOL
Your right, but when you thinkg about it, v6.0 is still very young, v5.6 had many templates cause it was stable for so long, and the new template for 6.0 applys to more of a general audience rather then just a dating site.
My simple response is if you like 5.6 better, use it.
Dolphin 6.0 looks super cool
just upload four rotating good images and you can change the whole look of Dolphin.
