… and it’s getting closer to reality. Shark, our dream project, is progressing and we couldn’t be happier - a major update is released! Go to 4ppl to look at what’s been done to date.
First, the layout changed to a more up-to-date 1000px canvas, and this change gives a huge number of opportunities, which we’re trying to exploit fully.
In 4ppl (Shark), the navigation is designed as a classic example of usability perfection - simple, intuitive and 100% conventional horizontal double-row menu. On top of it - you get Yahoo-like utility block and BoonEx-first-designed live notifications, which make the site feel like a real walk to a public place :).
The content part is designed with extreme flexibility in mind. In Shark you’ll be able to build pages with different block proportions - 50/50, 100, 30/60, 30/30/30, 60/30, 80/20, etc. The one-size-fits-it-all approach simply doesn’t make it anymore - you can’t have an 80/20 site layout on all pages and be efficient.
Shark is flexible in terms of what you’re going to show on your site pages, and on 4ppl we’re pulling live streams of member profiles and a blogline.
Blogs were redesigned and improved. Blogs work as classic multiuser blogging systems, but with a built-in live comments, comments rating, “reply to comments” and WISIWYG editor.
Mailbox has also received an update - now it retrieves new messages dynamically, without reload, the inbox is integrated with user images and the text snippet now shows two lines of text.
A cool new feature is the member Account with an all new “Live Alerts” tracker, which effectively pumps site stickiness and features integration. With Alerts, members are continuously notified about any activity associated with their profile, their mail or even actions made by their friends.
So, 4ppl updated, LoveLandia, BoonEx Unity and a few other BoonEx sites will be updated within a few weeks. Thus, the Shark platform is being live-tested by well over 100,000 real users, with even more to come.
More details about Shark availability, specifications, pricing and terms will be posted this week. One thing is for sure - once it’s out - it’s going to be the leading website platform for online communities.

What is the difference between shark and dolphin? i thought dolphin is designed for community sites as well… why two products with similar objectives/functionality?
Hope that Dolphin will soon be 1000px width with different block proportions too

I think but im not sure bit when iregistered a pretend name it didnt reconzie it threw the database…but remmeber its all a new begining ..maybe ill just install ray server all over agin …

Im going to go with my Heart …its always been telling me that SHARK will be much more excitting to host then DOLPHIN cause its more a Dating/Profile site rather then DOLPHIN where it has turned towards a more communtiy site …..Honestly i always wanted from the begining a Dating site … more When DOLPHIN was at stage 5.6 and ever since it went into 6.0 and further the look and feel has faced the Community more where i wantted a DAting site and not a community site …but i have hanged around for almost a year now …i still will wait until A Dolphin gets a whole new Template for Dating LOOK or where SHARK gets put out for testing and my HEART tells me SHARK will have a more Dating look then DOLPHIN in the end …this is only what i feel … lets wait and see what SANTA brings us
