Last week was dedicated to Support issues and problem solving which took pretty much most of the time of the BoonEx Team.
This has caused the delay in releasing the RC2 Combo. Its release was announced to be by the end of the last week.
So, here we go with the release of the RC2 Combo today.
What’s been done:
- WOW! Dolphin can be installed on a clustering setup. The environment was provided by HostForWeb. Read the instructions which should be done after the installation to configure Dolphin for clustering;
- Orca is re-integrated and has a common header and footer with Dolphin;
- License Registration in Orca is implemented;
- Bug fixing in Orca;

Download, install and leave your comments below. We strongly believe this to be the latest release before the official stable one. Sorry that it has taken so long with the 04 thing - it’s all mainly due to clustering support development, which in turn triggered some nice DB tweaks and as a result should make your Dolphin-based sites snappier.

Wow what an amazing accomplishment for Dolphin! Some people out there may not understand the importance of Boonex moving in this direction. But for those of us that have built very large traffic sites know the importance of an app to be able to utilize clustering to enable the scaling of a community site.
Just about any community software can give you enough performance to support a few simultaneous sessions. But the minute you start talking about clustering the size of your community can then grow like you would not believe without the performance issues non clustering apps experience.
It was going to be a future question and recommendation of mine once my community got the ground and got large enough. But it’s clear you have enough foresight to know what is needed for the future.

1st i had a dedicated server 50$ 20gb ( it was great but not the best )

2nd i had it running on my own ip for awile and i think it ran the best since hosting it threw your own pc and network is all more controling and much easier when you can stay logged into ur site constantly upgrading !

3rd i went to a shared hosting plan saw that i couldnt use all the resources form the server !

4th now i got this free online PC with my internet company and the sucky part is i am a newbie for LINUX but had someone check it out..realizing that all ports are open on the online pc but installing apps they have blocked only cause its in BETA testing !

5th now im slowly deciding to do from home the webpages of dolphon and the chat and advanced featueres ill use my online pc … ill be doing this this week……… so youll all start to see me more on here giving you feed back on everything …im so happy that im going back to where i had dolphin working 99% …cant wait …miss you all ciao soon !

Ditto on learning about the other features in the release. Especially interested in Ray 3.1. Awesome job on clustering support.
I have the same warning message:

When you try to sign in as a member or admin or navigate the site in any way you receive multiple other messages similar or related to the header file warning.
Feel free to visit and see for yourself. Any one have a fix yet?

Sorry, I’ve been out for a couple months. I’m looking forward to this release.
Can we expect to get the Diff Files again with this release? So many of our sites have become very modified, and the Diff files were a HUGE help with the last release.
Also, we’re hoping to have Ray source files, so they can be modified to match our sites.

finally i erase the header error by doing this…
I open the header.inc.php
I copy everything and paste it in textpad, i erase the spaces in the bottom of the file, (after ?>) and save it as ansi.

Take a look at this site and download the WOSPORTABLE Server Software, http://www.chsoftware.net/en/useware/wos/wos.htm
i have been using it to host Dolphin on my own sever with Dynamic on a DSL connection and dolphin 6.x runs sweet, Also it work well on Vista, All you do is put Dolphin into the WWW root folder of the package and run the install and hey everything works fine. Note don’t bother in running DNS software on your own machine as you will have problems looping back to you server, use a free service from DYNDNS.org : any way i hope this helps you to testout Dolphin and also is the easy’st server software package on the market, which works on a windows system. may be all D6x use will use Wosportable for hosting Dolphin.
