My failure

In a previous post I indicated I had things working except for the Video Recorder. I was mistaken. So…

Freshly re-installed everything (Dolphin - Ray - Orca, and Ray Media Server) from latest available downloads.

RMS installed via psftp, and java 1.5 installed via putty, both while logged in as root.

Files requiring editing were edited via VIM while logged in as root and file permission changes were made via PuTTy while logged in as root.

Logged in as root with PuTTy and ran ray.sh and the RMS started, so…

Edited rc.local to run run_daemon.sh at startup, then restarted VPS.

After restarting the VPS, visited “http://www.boonex.com/products/ray/red5_tester.swf” to test connection. This page connected successfully.

However, when logged into the admin panel of Dolphin, I get a connection error when attempting to “admin” the video recorder. When attempting to “admin” the A/V chat, it comes up ok in the admin panel but when a member is logged into the front-end and clicks on chat it just hangs on “connecting.” Also, from the front-end the whiteboard responds with a connection error.

Getting very frustrated!

To recap - Running on HFW VPS with purchased licenses for all products.

What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? And yes, I’m ready to give up and pay you guys to install it. I’m not to proud to admit defeat.

Kindest regards,

G

Video Recorder not working

Initially couldn’t get Ray working correctly.

Performed fresh install with 6.0.0002 on HostForWeb VPS. To recap an earlier post, I purchased all licenses and have installed Ray Media Server on my VPS.

Seems that everything is working except the video recorder. When I log into the admin portion and click on Plugins/Ray Suite, I can click “admin” for A/V Chat and it works, but when I click “admin” for Video Recorder I get a connection error.

On the front-end of the site, when you go into chat and initiate an IM session with another user, you of course get the popup IM window. When you place your mouse cursor over the video icon the help text that pops up says that video is currently off.

Any idea why this would be and what I can do to correct this?

Thanks,

G

Issues with RMS

Here is my setup:

VPS with HostForWeb
Purchased licenses for all Boonex Products
Installed Java 1.5 on VPS
Installed RMS on VPS as per instructions on Boonex website
Made sure all Widgets were installed and registered
Enabled IM
Enabled Ray Pro

So far I’ve not set Ray Server to start automatically, so I’ve been launching it via SSH login with PuTTy while trying to get things working. When I run ./ray.sh I get Ray notifications indicating that “Application Video was started,” “Board application was started,” and “Application chat was started.” I also see the last line stating “Startup done in: xxxx ms.

This is what I see in PuTTy when I go to Plugins, Ray Suite, and click the Admin button for A/V Chat <- which responds with “connection error”:

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] Admin connects

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(0) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(0) leaved the chat.

And this is what I see in PuTTy when I log in as a regular user on the front-end, like it’s looping:

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

[RAY notification - Chat.connect] User(1) connected.
[RAY notification - Chat.leave] User(1) leaved the chat.

I have no doubt this is something so stupid that you will all be embarrassed for me, but, any idea what I have messed up?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Bug when adding blog category

Received the following error on my test server immediately after clicking the “add category” button when adding a new blog category.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function MagBox() in C:\wamp\www\dolphin\inc\classes\BxDolBlogs.php on line 1806

The new category does get created however.

Dolphin and Amazon S3?

First off - awesome work and awesome software package. Obviously you’ve had many, many feature requests, so what’s one more right? Just kidding!

Any possibility of creating an option to use Amazon S3 to store all the files that are uploaded by users?

Thanks,

G
